A Level 2 Electrician is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) formally authorised by Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy to work on the electricity distribution network. This covers all work between the street power supply and your meter β underground cables, overhead service lines, metering equipment, private poles and new connections. Standard electricians are not authorised to perform this work in NSW.
A standard licensed electrician can perform wiring inside your home or business β power points, lighting, circuits and switchboard work. A Level 2 ASP electrician is additionally authorised by the electricity network to work on the supply infrastructure between the street and your meter. For any job that involves the network side of your meter, you need a Level 2 ASP.
Grade A is the highest level of ASP accreditation available in NSW, covering all four classes of Level 2 work β Class 2A (overhead service lines), Class 2B (underground service mains), Class 2C (metering and switchboards) and Class 2D (private poles). Grade B accreditation is more limited. We hold Grade A with both Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy.
